there isnt one as far as I know, but why would u want one????

Securly is only good as far as the other modules are - requiring admin use and access via the admin.php.

Why? Mainly for quick edits. Rather then having to ftp up/down. Would be most handy for "Static" pages. Oh thats right someone says they don't exist. Hmn trueth is it could be useful.

I've been daydreaming of letting users (Like on my family site) have a regular editable home page. Creating them with http://xav.com/scripts/genesis/ and adding (manuelly to begin with) an index module of user webpages. But this can be admined via genesis or ftp.

But I do see a file browser as having merits I played with pMachine (blog) some but didn't like the file browser in it. Something like Phpcommander http://www.szewo.com/php/commander/eng/
might be better.

you could always port it into an iframe and copy the access stuff from one of the exising admin modules (not forgetting the case file that u've got to create, and the link file u've got to create)

I've been thinking about a CP myself. There are problems with it however, major security risks that need to be overcome first.

It would have to be good quality so you dared to open a file. The one in the version of pMachine was so bad it trashed anything I opened with it. Nothing worse then a time saver that creates more work then it saves!

Well I haven't done a thorough evaluation but here is a nice working filemanager stumbled on in the phpnuke.org forums today.

http://www.desarrollonuke.org/modules.php?name=Reviews&rop=showcontent&id=22

They have some other very nice looking modules but this caught my interest.

Hi,

in the last 3 months i was send 3 news to phpnuke.org and noone has been publicated:
1.- Dirigent: This file manager
2.- iFrame: Like the htmltonuke, but into a iFrame
4.- FeedBackPlus: to add/edit feedbacks form to your phpnuke.

The FileManager don't work in all the Servers... (need safemode off and write/read permissions). It's avalaible in spanish, catalan, english, italian, french, polish and russian.

You can see images here:

Are you the author of this Dirigent file manager? and if so what have you done to tackle possible security issues? The original Nuke filemanager was removed from nuke because of all the risks it posed to the site and even the server where it was used at.

Bein the paranoid sort I added the code to allow use from my IP only to the /admin/modules/dirigent.php think its good practice to do with both htaccess and directly apply to the file. Paranoid maybe, absolute dumbass? Well maybe Very Happy

Yes, i'm the author (see the readme for the credits, i have take code from FileManager and WebExplorer)

This module is not secure 100%, i know it, but it's a solution for a small site and inexpert nukers.

The module only have the "admin phpnuke" security issue... i want to "write more".. but i don't know the english words... sorry
