Is there a way to get the phpBB2 forums module to match the theme of the php-nuke and/or add new templates to it? Whenever I go to the forums admin on my phpnuke site, I get an error if I try to add/create a new style in the Syles Admin. It says "modules/Forums/admin/admin_styles.php" doesn't exsist. I uploaded a new template (fisubgreen) because I didn't like the boring subSilver and because my phpnuke theme is green, but I can't activate fisubgreen. If I delete subsilver, and leave fisubgreen, I get a bunch of errors when I go to the forums module on my phpnuke site. So, How do I add a new template to the forums module and/or get the forums module template to match my phpnuke site's theme? [/quote] |

I don't think that's a real solution to the problem.
This is the error I get anytime I try to admin the forum styles in PHP Nuke -
| Code: |
Warning: main(./pagestart.): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/cupidmes/public_html/front/modules/Forums/admin/admin_styles.php on line 48
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './pagestart.' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/cupidmes/public_html/front/modules/Forums/admin/admin_styles.php on line 48 |
Does anyone have a real fix for this yet? |

This is what I was answering.
And my answer is a good solution to that part of the question.

phbb for nuke does not use styles, depending on what ver your running you need a matching set of forums. They will either go into templates or in the themes dir.
For more info search these forums for styles or themes. |

Nukeum, I imagine you have all of the answers that anyone could possibly need.
Not.
Thanks for the response -PC-, I will begin redesigning the existing theme. |

One answer is to not mess around with something you don't understand. Search before you post all the answers are here already it just takes a little effort. |

I understand quite well, thank you.
It's a good thing that all of time's great inventors didn't think the same way you do.
That is exactly the type of thinking one could expect from most dregs of the Internet.

Yeah, but then you break things and come post on here with a problem you caused instead of fixing it yourself. Great inventors didn't do that neither.

::Rolls up sleeves:: j/k
Actually, I didn't intend for my original post to sound snide.
I'm certainly not an expert at PHP. ... Javascript and HTML? Maybe. ...PHP? ... No, but I'm learning.
All apologies. |

That's cool ! I was also a little out of line, I guess it was the lack of coffee ! ...
Have a look here to see if you can find a style that comes close to your theme. http://www.phpbb.com/styles/ |

I see how themes are added BUT how to remove this error?
Warning: main(./pagestart.): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/kapitico/public_html/site/modules/Forums/admin/admin_styles.php on line 48
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './pagestart.' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/kapitico/public_html/site/modules/Forums/admin/admin_styles.php on line 48
Thanks in advance |

That's what I wondered also, but if I am understanding correctly, it doesn't matter because you can't admin styles that way anyway.
So heres what I did ...
In the "modules/Forums/themes/subSilver/" directory, find and open subSilver.css and edit it to suit your needs.
Then in the images directory replace cellpic, cellpic1, cellpic2 with images that fit your scheme (mind the dimensions).
Then find overall_header.tpl, open it, find (around line 9)
| Code: |
| <!-- link rel="stylesheet" href="modules/Forums/templates/subSilver/{T_HEAD_STYLESHEET}" type="text/css" --> |
Change to
| Code: |
| <link rel="stylesheet" href="modules/Forums/templates/subSilver/subSilver.css" type="text/css"> |
Then remove the <style></style> tag between lines 10 and 211.
Find and open simple_header.tpl and follow the same as above.
Any other file in the subSilver directory that contains the same style can be edited to match.
Are we having fun yet? |
