Hi I installed My_eGallery and all seems to work except that I cannot create any catagories or subs. I get this error:
The script was unable to create the directory. Please check you write permissions.
It didnt like it when i created the folder myself
What folder needs the write perms, currently I have 755 on /var/www/html/modules, My_eGallery and gallery. is this correct? |

thats what I meant. The first version I got promised to install if for me which didn't, then I found a newer version and I imported the sql file myself. I am still having problems with my install though, as the program is making empty thumbnails, and I can't see any graphics. AAAAHHH!! |

Empty thumbnails huh? what Thumbnail generation method have you selected???
As for the database install script, I've had reports of ppl having trouble with it (even though it worked fine for me), so I'd recommend trying the .sql file I supplied in the pack (if you're using the Nuke 6.5 port that is).
As for category creation, make sure that all the files in /admin/modules/gallery are CHMOD 666 and the directory to 777, as well as the /modules/My_eGallery/Gallery folder CHMOD to 777

It is the same with netpbm and imagemagick. If I select gd lib, it just throws up loads of errors. I have done the chmods you suggested, but it still does the same thing. I'd really like to use this module. It's great on other sites.

I also have problems with thumbnails, what I noticed is that when i upload a pic to the default catagory a thumb is created but when I create a new catagory and upload pics no thumbs. I tried GD and browser and it works the same. the default catagory gets thumbs and nothing else, the same with sub catagories under the default catagory. The perms are the same for all dirs any ideas? |

Beebar, I have found an alternative. It's called 4nAlbum, and it would appear it is exactly the same as My_egallery under another name. I installed it under 6.5 and it worked perfectly first time. Good instalation instructions as well.
Have a search on PHPNuke.org for it as I can't remember where I downloaded it from (probably there thoguh!!)
