WebMail??? What and how does it work

I came across the web mail module and wondered how it works. I would like to let users be able to send mail to anywhere and get mail here if they want. Does it let them do that?

If not is there a module that will?

It works like that when it works. I have yet to see it run on a windows machine but.... miracles do happen so most likely now that I've said that someone will say it works great for them on windows blah blah.

I am running it on Linus, so hopefully it works that way.

It's worth noting though that allthough the webmail module allows you to send / receive mail from the web site, it has the pre-requisite of the members having their own pop3 email server somewhere. The site itself doesn't give them an email account.
