We have many nuke sites that are running all different versions of nuke.
we just recently made a subdomain on a site on our server. this sub we uploaded nuke 6.9 then we had a problem with the admin panel. it will not allow us to access anything when we get in. it loops us back out to the log in. now i have looked in these forums and others. i saw people say make a regular user account and an admin with the same info. i did this and it did not help. then i saw people say it is a cookie issue. we ran windows washer and cleaned everything. this did not solve the problem. then we deleted that site and db and uploaded 6.5 which always functions for us. then i got in for a minute and when i left and tried to go back it did the same thing, looping. Now we have gone so far as to delete that and create a new subdomain on a different domain in our server. we are still having the exact same looping. i really need some assistance with this problem. we need to be able to get this subdomain functioning.
Thank you  |

Having the same or similar problem. Hosting company lost power for about 16 hours. Back on but all (ALL) 12 phpNuke sites are basically not (NOT) useable. Admin loops, user login says "offline" and is worthless. Investigated as much as I can. Can't find this answer in the forum (searched, and will continue). Reloaded mysql authors. Loaded new authors for admin. Used saved mysql to put back whole mysql and a handful of other dumb and dumber ideas but am still LOOPING.
Surely it is something the host company has done with some mysql switches. What are they and how do we tell them what to fix or what do we fix. I like phpNuke and switched from phpwebsite. Don't really want to go back. Want phpNuke to succeed.
Please advise.
Sample site (one that is at bottom or basic beginning level)

one that needs a lot of help

Reloading from the beginning means about a months work. |

Hi
Kept looking. Found a post by using "admin log loop" and searching for ALL words. Look for the post with about 42 replies and READ. Sent a note to the hosting company about the switch on the "self" bit and also deleted all the cookies (had about 2200 of them so it was time) even though I like getting back and having the cookie reset the login easily. Now I'll struggle with that. HOWEVER, whichever worked, the phpNuke sites are now accepting login without looping. The hosting company responds pretty well from their support so that may be it but I bet it was deleting the cookies that did the job (I'll send a note to the support). So, try that one first. Where are the cookies? The ones I deleted were in earthlink (in the Windows folder). Find them by using the "find" function and put in "cookie" and search windows folder. Take out the ISP cookies (such as the earthlink ones) first and see if that works. |

I had this prob and found the fix on phpnuke.org's forums back in May, i tried to find it for you but couldnt, i vaguely remember it being an edit to the modules/your_acount/index.php which stops users showing as offline.
I will keep looking unless someone else points it out for you.
Admin loop.... how are you hosting your site ? Yourself or 3rd party ? what setup ? |

Did you also try .htaccess? There was mention of that in the set of responses I pointed to above. My hosting company has suggested I not use .htaccess at all or suffer a non responsive site. So I must load phpNuke without those. Adding specific ones later might be ok. Or, maybe your hosting company put you on "safe" without notifying you. Mine are all back (about 10) and I have not heard from the support group do they're still backlogged. When they tell me what they think, I'll post it. |

no we have not gotten this fixed. thessites run on our own server and are not in safe mode or anything else , also htaccess is not secure. We had to end up buying a new domain to run the site on. We only get the admin loop when we try to run nuke on a SUBDOMAIN. We have no trouble when we run nuke alone on its own cpanel. this is an issue that really needs to be fixed in my opinion. I wanted to thank you for your suggestions. |

Thanks
We need to make a sub-domain soon. If you find a solution, please remember this post and fill in the blanks. It will be about 6 to 8 weeks yet but she needs phpNuke. |

The response from Hostica.com's support is in.
+++++++++++++++++++++
From what we can tell, PHP_SELF is enabled.
From the phpinfo:
_SERVER["PHP_SELF"] /info.php
From php.ini :
safe_mode_allowed_env_vars = PHP_
Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, I would say all indications are that it's enabled...
++++++++++++++++++++++
So, it seems dumping the cookies did the job. A lot easier than bugging the support groups.
However, I still must make a subdomain and the lady wants a phpNuke site. Not only that, she wants the subdomain, NOT another domain. So, I'll cross that bridge in about 6 weeks or so (her requested schedule). Just a friend, I'm not a "for hire" type but I'd like to help her out and do hope it will work. |

I'm getting quite frustrated here!
I have a main site with several subdomain sites all running pnpNuke 6.8. I get this "admin loop" problem for each site I add-on as a subdomain. I know deleting cookies will work...for now. But this is NOT the fix. This is what's called a "work around". Is there any word from the developers, or anyone else, on FIXING this problem?
There has got to be at least 100+ posts here form different users having this problem and yet there is no fix anywhere in sight. I don't think any of us are going to jump right into nuke 7.x, which will have it's own issues, if there is seemingly no concern to fix problems for suppossedly "stable" versions that is so widely used. If this issue has been fixed in 7.x, then I can't see why a fix/patch couldn't be made for the 6.x versions.
I know this software is free. Therefore I accept having to deal with minor cosmetic issues or small glitches or the fact that I have to hunt all over the internet to solve some problems on my own. But this isn't a minor issue.
I know very little about PHP code and even less about the using and setting of cookies. So I cannot "fix" this problem. I'm hoping that some of your more skilled nukers out there will sit down and try to find the issue or at least we should get a "How To" page that we can go to with all the possible options consolidated into a single readable document.
Thanks for dealing with my rantings but I had to say something.
Robert. |

Where? In post1.html? Could it be in another post file?
I've read that page but I don't see where this topic is covered. What is the title of the section?
Thanks
