GT and emailsforyou.php problems...

I recently received word from a user that they were getting an error on their pocket PC while trying to browse my site... The error was stating that emailsforyou.php file not found.

I never installed that script so I figured that it must have hd something to do with GT... Anyway, I installed emailsforyou.php and now he receives the standard disclaimer that his pocket PC is a known mining device...

Here is an excerpt from the email he sent me:
"I have tried the site with both of my PocketPC's and I can't browse with either of them. I get the "This server does not accept web page mining tools. etc......."

One PocketPC is a HP 567 running Windows Mobile 2002 for PocketPC. The other is a Siemens SX56 running Windows Mobile 2002 for PocketPC Phone. Both use Pocket Internet Explorer. Both use a StrongARM processor."

Is there anything I can do to allow this user to use a pocket PC to browse my site? Is this truly a GT issue?

Hi'ya its not the GoogleTap, its actually a file within the nuke cops php-nuke bundle:

http://cvs.nukecops.com/co.php/emailsforyou.php

Basically if a "known bad user-agent" gets tagged, they are thrown this file.

You can modify what is a "known bad user-agent" by going here:

http://cvs.nukecops.com/co.php/.htaccess?r=1.7

All the RewriteCond starting after :

#The next lines check for Email Spammers Robots and redirect them to a fake page

Is what you can comment out or add to. Find out what his useragent is and fix your htaccess.

This might help, since I have had the same problem as well:

1. Using my PDA, I connected to www.cyscape.com - this site has tools to determine your user agent (other sites do exist). It showed up as...

Mozilla/2.0 (MSIE3.02; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320)

2. I looked thru the .htaccess file to see which user agents are excluded, saw that Mozilla/2.0 was in there

3. Commented that line out with a '#' and connected to my site again with the PDA- et voila, it works now!

Give it a try and see if this helps you as well.
