Re: What do you expect from future PHPNuke-version - add your ideas now! (Score: 1) by edogs on Sunday, October 02 @ 03:37:10 CEST (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.dogsempire.com | Thanks for reminding about our promiss:-) It's coming soon.
Regarding our opinion, we feel we must explain.
There are a lot of things in nuke which need to be rewriten, they just don't follow basic rules for modern situation. Part of things are comes from older versions, and since php-nuke latest version already incompatible with new versions in most part we don't see the sense to keep it inside the code.
Security...
Latest patches, and basically patches at all, they comes from big code. Big code - long time not reviewed - big problems.
And more other, 3rd party bad code. Remember guys, there are no serious security holes in php-nuke latest version itself. PHPBB security holes crashed a lot of sites on php-nuke, but why hell all talking that this is php-nuke holes? Even best CMS would never be able to close all possible security holes in 3rd party modules.
So that do we have? Problems to phpnuke mostly comes from old code inside, from bad 3rd party modules, from absense of documentation for programmers.
What needed to fixt it? Easy, remove old code, make more natural born modules (to avoid 3rd party modules as much as possible), write a good documentation to have one standart.
BUT:-) Ok. We never mentioned to tell this. But, how FB earns money? Correct. With releases of new version there "bugfixes, patches". So that will happend with income if he will fix it all?:-) |
