I agree, I think we do need to search for answers instead of asking them again, and I also know the search engine has always for me some the the least relevant answers possible. It's be awesome if we could create an information archive. For example, that post mikem linked to was awesome. I know it says READ ME FIRST but I has no clue it was even there, and I learned a LOT from reading it. I think we could benefit from a php troubleshooting manual, but it'd be so hard to make and take more time than the developers should have to go through... perhaps a user based project?

Thanks for the original post though. It was helpful.

I agree about the search engine though. When I first started using a phpbb board, I tried searching for a few things and realized that it didn't work. New members can either spend hours searching through ALL the posts, or take 45 seconds to start a new one. Think of how frustrating it is when your site craps out on you and how fast you want to fix it.
