There is a lot to fix and redo in the core of PHP-Nuke for it to remain competitive before doing any Amazon module or the sort, whatever FB's motivation for it may be.

As FB stated before the release of PHPNuke v 6.5 - he should concentrate of fixing and improving the core (and currently distributed modules) and let third parties come up with other interesting modules & blocks.
I have so many fixes to v 6.5 now, I can hardly easily upgrade to 7.0 as I know that some of the bugs won't have been fixed - e.g. Journals module for a start.
