Nuke Patched Core - Project Online!
SecurityEvaders99 writes "Looking for a better way to get your site Patched? Want to always get the latest phpNuke patched packages and fixes? With the latest security issues and need for urgent patches, developing patches and deploying them efficiently is key.

Nuke Patched Coreis a PROACTIVE project for the entire phpNuke community! Nuke Patched Core is a project extension from the Nuke Patched files. Like its namesake, it incorporates all the patches for phpNuke from NukeFixes into one solid set of files.
  • Users of phpNuke 7.6, 7.7, 7.8 (soon 7.9!) can get Patched or full version packages* from our Core 7.6/7/8 set. *Updated every 24 hrs
  • Users can maintain their site patches with access to our CVS repository.
  • Users can easily upgrade versions without having to replace every file.
  • Developers can fix and deploy patches to our CVS repository, quickly patching multiple versions from our Core sets.
  • Developers can view file changes from our repository as well as coding standards used from the Patched files

Our goal has been to remove bad code resulting in notice error (one of the latest hacks was already fixed in the Patched files because of this). Our next goal is remove the need for register_globals or import_request_variables that causes many PHP security issues.

Interested? We are looking for developers and code testers for our test sites. Check us out the Nuke Patched Core project page.

Evaders99 is a Site Admin at NukeCops. He is also a developer of the Patched files and maintains several phpNuke including Star Wars Rebellion Network and his own phpNuke service site: Evaders Squadron Coding"

Do you plan to have a mailing list or add a feature in the admin panel to notify people when you release a new patch?

Full versions of 7.8, 7.9 will be coming shortly. And then I'll work on standardizing sets for 6.5-6.9, 7.0-7.4, and 7.5

I DO plan on hosting a mailing list too, especially for urgent changes. It will use an updated phpList ported to work in phpNuke.

You may not have CVS access if you are using CPanel/Plesk. You will probably need shell access to your server (shared servers may not allow this)... Telnet/SSH

However, you can download the files to your site using a CVS client (TortoiseCVS for Windows). You will have to upload them manually to your site.

Still looking for code testers and other code developers
