Software: Restoring large databases...
SoftwareQ writes "Have you ever tried to restore your DB only to find out you need to break it into chunks? Well, my DB has grown to about 70Meg and to load it on my test server I had to break it into 3Meg chunks!! It was taking 1-2 hours to get it uploaded so I decided to look for a better way. That is when I discovered "BigDump" on hotscripts...this sweet little script uploads a DB in 3000 line chunks and only takes 3-5 Min on my 70Meg DB. So if you have ever been frustrated uploading your DB then I highly recommend you click HERE to get BigDump.

**Note: I have nothing to do with this script other than being a very happy user!!!"

Why would a 70MB or larger file time out when restoring unless you are uploading from a local PC? Wouldn't the solution be to put the file to restore on your server and have mySQL import it from there?

I've only had it time out when uploading from my PC to the server when trying to import it....
