Re: CMS hosting. (Score: 1) by Audioslaved on Saturday, September 13 @ 20:22:11 CEST (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.audioslaved.com | | In the first 3 days of September I hit over 5 gig bandwidth. If you are nuker using googletap, especially with the full forum tap, these packages will shut you down quick. If you are a noob, sounds like a good deal. What kind of advanced packages do you guys offer, 5 gb of bandwidth is almost laughable to some of us, so for moderate to advanced users do you offer any other packages. Thanks. |

Re: CMS hosting. (Score: 1) by MikeMiles on Sunday, September 14 @ 06:35:04 CEST (User Info | Send a Message) | A lot of hosts hang around here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com . If you post your need over there, whoever can meet it will speak up or they may recommend others to you who can. After that, do some searching and check out whether the candidates are reputable or not.
Those who have high bandwidth sites know they have to get out of the gutter, and they have to pay way more than $8/month. The majority of the hosts who post here can only handle small or low-bandwidth sites which the majority of users are anyway. These guys would absolutely die if everyone maxed out the bandwidth at the price they offer. This one though is actually fairly reasonably priced but 1 to 5 Gigs will turn out to be nothing if you intend to grow a lot. The most important thing to know right up front is whether a host can handle your site when/if it does grow out of their package deals. Some will actually show you the door while others will gladly work with you as you grow. |

When I first started, I was on one of those infamous "unlimited bandwidth" hosts, needless to say, he asked me to leave because I was taking up to many resources, I only had 200 people on my site then, maybe less, the next host, was a single reseller/owner of his own company, he folded, my host now is great, they have been very helpful, and for the price I pay (me and a guy share a dedicated box) it is well worth it, I guess it is what you want from your site, and whether the vision of your site is top on the search engines and visitors all the time, or just a few friends hanging out and messing around with the occasional few visitors. Just try to ask questions before you get into something, and only go with one of those pay way in advance hosts, if they have the reputation and customer service to back it up. |
