(User Info | Send a Message) http://www.junkmail.com.au | I've no objection to people making a buck for their hard work and efforts. But when these modules are advertised at sites like here and org wht don't the authors be upfront and say "and the cost is..." or is this a traffic generating thing.
You aren't allowed to advertise like that in any other medium. |

I'm not an expert about what makes the news rules at NukeCops...however, many sites would consider the 'news' item un-news worthy if it mentioned costs in it....so people shy away from putting costs in out of fear of the news item being pulled.
Also..EVERYONE is guilty of posting news items for commercial gain.

Most module makers which offer modules do so at cost to them (their time). So I really appreciate it when people offer addons.
You may be right though. My site cost me a couple hundred bucks a year so you can see I'm no expert on commercial gain. Infact you could say I am a dismal failure at it :) |
