Possible Paypal scam!! BEWARE |

 intel352 writes "I received this email today, saying that I needed to re-verify that my email address was working, and edit my profile.. That was b.s., I knew my acct is fine, but I clicked on the link to see what the hell it was. Turns out someone has ripped off the Paypal website, and there was a legit-looking Profile form to fill out, with ALL of your info (you had to enter the info, that's the scam). If you get this email, do NOT fall for it!! Read More to see the email. Any mention of my email has been changed to prevent spam, lmao.

No matter what system or company you work with, someone will have or has had a bad experience. It is unfortunate but that's life. There are many more reasons to use PayPal and remember that you don't hear much about the all those success stories, only the negative. And as ZH said, this has nothing to do with PayPal. |

(User Info | Send a Message) | Whenever you get one of these emails, just forward the entire thing with the complete headers off to whatever company they are posing as. They in turn will go after the scammers once they collect enough evidence. If you got one, chances are thousands if not tens or hundreds of thousands of other people received them too. Some actually fill it out and get ripped off, most throw these away, and very few help the company build a case to go after the slimeballs to stop them.

(User Info | Send a Message) | I agree. Sending this stuff to them is good too, but unfortunately they only have a limited amount of manpower and cannot go after ever scammer out there. Companies though have an incentive to track down these slimeballs to protect not only their customers but also their reputation. I assume EBay/PayPal are like a lot of other companies and have employees which do nothing but go after slime. Obviously, the best thing to do is notify the public before they get suckered but getting someone to shut them down is good too.

i just wanted to get this notification out to security-minded people, so that people are aware of this specific scam and will hopefully not get ripped off
i just wonder how many people filled out their info...
btw, it doesn't ask for password, but it does ask for social security #, credit card #, and even your friggin 3-digit security code as well, lmao |
