Re: SPChat, best of the chat systems? (Score: 1) by gunner on Friday, January 16 @ 18:35:36 CET (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.boozebros.ca | | Seems like a great module, but I'll be damned if any of us can get the actual chatroom to pop up after joining. Seems to be a common problem from what I can see. Incidently I have all pop-up blockers disabled. An improvement for nukers would be to have the chatroom embedded the site (ie. no pop-up). |

When I visit their site it works fine. The one advertised on nuke cops is Version: 0.8.1.7, which no worky for me.

Re: SPChat, best of the chat systems? (Score: 1) by coastalina on Saturday, January 17 @ 02:51:04 CET (User Info | Send a Message) | | We have it installed on our site and it works fine. We have to periodically go into the database and delete the postings. They seem to stay up forever & I haven't had time to search for the cure. It is probably something I did, it usually is. There are several postings on the spchat web site forum about a problem that appears to be browser specific where the frame that displays the comment entry field, smilies, and the send/exit/help buttons appear will quite working after the first post. We have tested it on several computers running several versions and the only one we have had trouble with a mac g3 running OS9.2.2. G5's ok, Windows 98, 2000, XP - all ok. Go figure. |

If you can't get the pop up to open, disable pop up and ad blockers. These exist in many forms:
- Google and Alexa toolbars
- Norton Anti Virus (has one built in)
- Firewalls
- Proxomitron, and the like
Also make sure you have client side scripting enabled (ie Javascript)
If you mean that posts are still displaying in the chat window after the chat has finished, you can set how many posts should show up in the configuration. Default is set to 10.
Do you have the chat log enabled? Default is set to not log. If you use the log, you'll need to go in and dump that periodically depending on how much it is used.
We can provide you a hard code to keep it rolling, instead of expanding, you just need to provide us with the max value you want retained in the database. |

I think "default" is mine for thinking that the I should see the posts clear the window after I log out and log back in, but upon more thought, I think I thought wrong, you think? Still the g3 running os 9.2.2 cannot post but one time before loosing the operation frame. That I can live with considering I am probably the only person with a mac g3 running 9.2.2. I wonder what they did to os X to clear up the issue.
Thanks for your help. Zhen-Xjell, your hard work and the hard work of your team is beyond comparison. You all have a passion that is rare. I appreciate your dedication so we understudy's can follow along and pick up a bit of wisdom here and there. |

Should be found under general configuration and the selection may be called "number of messages upon enter". |
