Google Knocks on your Front Door |
|
Nuke Cops continues its steady evolution of the software called Google Tap written in PHP and Apache mod_rewrite code. This product, distributed under the GNU GPL Version II License, takes your PHP-Nuke website long URL links and shrinks them into HTML thereby allowing Google to deep-crawl your prized portal. See your site in just 1-2 months reach ever higher results on Google.com. Google Tap will literally bring in members thanks to opening your portal's contents up to the highly visible Google, and its Page Rank system.
Download our Google Tap (GT) today. Visit our GT support forum here.

i asked some people in the forum if they could tell me what kind of server i would need to run googleTap on all my sites. I have 30 active domains, this is as much traffic as nukecops and computercops have and about 25 installed phpnuke sites, now i want to use googleTap but the server is too slow, so what do i need to upgrade, more ram-memory, mor HDs, more CPU power?

Any status on updates? I've seen a nuker that goes by audioslaved is really tearing up the forums, but I'm hooked on the NC distros. If it comes from NC its tested and streamlined.
Are you going to update GT anytime soon? Its been 3 months already. :-) (I need my GT fix already... come on!) :-) :-) :-) :-)
THanks for everything NukeCops! |

I don't really think NC would have made me an Elite Nuker had they thought I didn't know what I was doing. If you would test the GT-NExtGEn beta you might see that it has been tested pretty damn thoroughly, also you would see it was streamlined to the point where you look at your header.php and it still resembles your header.php again, not two huge friggen arrays that pass at every page, whether or not the module you are viewing may not even be tapped. But hey, I guess I really wouldn't know, Im not from NukeCops. ;)
I see where you are coming from jimmyjimjim and I appreciate your kind words, but I wanted to say to you personally that just because I am not Nukecops, doesn't mean that my code cannot be trusted, there are only so many way's to do regex and mod_rewrite for this particular situation, its not like NC invented that, though that is what I believed the first time I opened the GT files and looked around. ;) If it makes any difference to you or not, I got the blessing from ZX in October to go ahead and further the distro. It may have spidered out from Nukecops vision a little, but none the less, I informed and volunteered to do this for Nukecops, and got a blessing from that. That to me says enough, see you around. |

You see, NukeCops is not one dude... Not to cut your code short, you've got skillz, propz!!!
It's just that if a distro is released by NC it is accepted and supported by an idea, a community... Not just one dude with really awsome code.
I've been playing with nuke since release 5.5 and I've seen some extreamly talented people come and go. But, one thing NC has been able to do that no one else has been able to do is take a stand at standardization.
Man, I did not mean to convey a slam, but, if you really want to get onboard get your code in the CVS.

Second.
Try GT NextGen if you are working on Google tapping your site.
I think as you develop a site, and try out modules, you will find the new way of implementing GT WAAAAAAY easier.
I don't understand pointing to a 3 month old entry in the CVS in conjunction with "steady evolution". If it is then Audioslaved efforts belong in some sort of x-men comic. *smile*
No flame bait intended here. I am just saying that although I don't have an elite badge, I have worked with both sets of options, (and with googlifier) and the GT NextGen plan is a good one.
GT NExtGen will allow you to add new modules and options just by dropping files into a directory. It has an easy on off toggle.
In almost all things I go with the NC plan. This is one of the exceptions.
I thought the AudioSlaved plan WAS the Nuke Cops Plan. If it isn't it should be. |

However, it seems that lots has happened (beyond the engagement) in the past couple weeks which has prevented this to happen yet:
- a couple security exploits which we patched
- CVS bundle was corrupt in the last major commit by a developer we cannot locate and had to personally resolve
Zhen scheduled time to talk with Bill on the phone about his work, however, due to the higher priority issues, that hasn't been done. Rest assured that Zhen'll check out Bill's code this week.
At the same token, the GT has been updated with more Forums compliant code regex. |
