Hello,

I was wondering my site is getting hit pretty bad by spammers. I have Nukesentinel on etc and I make people use their e-mail to confirm the registration.

But many of them still get in.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a DNS block list or something I can install on linux that automatically looks up a DNSBL out there and checks to see if the ip is on the list and blocks the user or allows them on the server?

Thanks for your time.

I have not had a single spam in 1,5 year even though my guests are allowed to post in the forum. I use bbantispam or Advanced Textual Confirmation, which is easy to install. Put the installation code in config.php, because it is simplest and most effective. bbantispam can sometimes disturb SPChat, but there is a fix for that now.

I have not had a single spam registration, since I started with bbantispam. It is mainly robots that makes the spam registrations. My impression is that they register through phpbb and that they then not need to activate through e-mail, but is activated directly. Try to register a member through the forum and you will see.
