Nuke Cops -> Nuke Security

Author: sdesign PostPosted: Tue Sep 28, 2004 1:17 pm    Post subject: Linking to a file outside of the root??

I have some files for download that I want to prevent people from being able to view, so I figured I could place them outside of my websites root folder. Is this possible somehow?

I have my config.php file placed outside my phpnuke root (../config.php), as suggested so I know that it can be done in some cases. I've tried to do this but have had no joy.

Is there any other way to protect files from thieves?

(oh, and I don't want to use the htaccesss method)
