X - Decode/encode privmsg table data

Hi all, this is crossposted in the modules forum but just spotted this forum too... Seems more appropriate here.

Hope someone can help me with this. The forum/privmsg code is a huge heap, very difficult to find anything...

I need to understand how these fields are encoded:

privmsgs_bbcode_uid field in the nuke_bbprivmsgs_text table
privmsgs_date field in the nuke_bbprivmsgs table
privmsgs_ip field in the nuke_bbprivmsgs table

I'm trying to insert a new private message into the database, but I can't see how to encode the date & ip values or what the bbcode_uid field is for.

All help appreciated.

Okay, I've sorted the bbcode field and the date field... Still need some help with the IP address, that seems to appear from thin air...
