I am not certain if this topic belongs here nor if someone can actually answer it with the amount of information that I have at this point, but I figured its worth a shot.
Our host (hostcolor) is apparently having load issues on our current server and has offered to move our site to one of their new servers. This was supposed to happen over Thanksgiving, but apparently they ran into a wealth of errors when moving it. Our phpnuke 7.5 apparently does not like the new server's CentOS 5, mysql 5.0.4, php 5.2.* . They have as yet to provide me with specifics. But from the glimpse of the site on their new server that they allowed me to have, it appears that the site is not loading most of the modules and has made the site unusable on that server.
What I would like to know is this: would simply upgrading to a newer version (which one?) fix these problems? Is it a module issue that I need to address and remove modules? Other ideas?
Thanks for any help!!!

hi there,
the issue it sounds like is nuke is based on very early php code and unpatched versions of nuke still rely on globals
under php5 you will need to enable register_globals and even register_long_arrays
you could try patching with chatserv patches based on your nuke version at nukeresources.com
there are also tricks you can do to emulate register globals if your host wont allow them other that you may need to update older modules
that still use HTTP_*

alright...so I should have included "I am not very tech-savy" lol
While I understand most of what you are saying, would it be easier to update??
Also, the one thing that I dont understand is where would I make this change? Within the modules individually? Sorry.

moduels wise cant really tell you some modules use them some dont, all depends on how the moduel was coded and how old they really are.
but i would really look into nuke patches if you really need help i can take a look at your cms for you
