I know virtually nothing about coding, but was determined to make this great Calendar work! I was looking at the error, same one you posted, and was just sitting here reading it over and over, in the sql_layer.php file. I noticed that a block of text was repeated and wondered if that might be the problem. I cut and pasted it in notepad, just in case I was wrong. But, it now works! All errors gone...

Look for the following and see if it is the problem for you:

case "MySQL":
$row = array();
$row = mysql_fetch_array($res);
return $row;
break;;

Please email me, and do pass this on if it worked! Good luck!

Not really sure what you are doing here. sql_layer.php problems are usually cause by improper database installations. SQL errors mostly concerning queries which are invalid or trying to go for a table that is not set up correctly.
