Hmm, that is odd. The following if statement exists for those two community top links:

if (sql_num_rows($result, $dbi)>0) {
...
}

Which means if there is nothing, don't do anything.

So I think I know whats happening, you don't have the community module and its burping completely.

As a short term solution, just comment out the entire if block in both the commcoollinks and commlinks functions.
