It's not a matter of them asking questions but pointing out specifically where the script breaks. Many users are code ignornant. If a script doesn't work in their language, they usually give up and move on to another one.

English letters use a single byte while Asian characters are multibyte. To fix this requires playing around with the display/database encoding. By having a native close at hand, he can easily say which parts look fine and which are still screwed up as it's being tweaked. IMO this is something the main developers have to take on so that it becomes part of the core and doesn't require someone else maintaining a separate mod that will need updating every time a new version is released.
