the way this class is written, it wouldn't surprise me if it could query other games.

what engine is ghost based on? pm me your servers ip address and query port and i'll see if it answers

I registered just to tell you that you're my hero! I've been looking for a module/program/ANYTHING to query avp2, and have had NO LUCK until now Laughing

I loves you man!

Author: disgruntledtechLocation: Tulsa, OKPostPosted: Fri Aug 29, 2003 2:48 pm    Post subject: Re: new game server query module in development

i got your PM about the Avp2 server - i couldn't query it successfully
i have added servers for a lot of the game types
http://secretlab.voicesinmyhead.net/modules.php?name=GameServers

quakeworld and tribes aren't working at all right now -i have plenty of others to polish up first Smile

i've been chatting with the developer of the class (he added player info YEAH!)

heres where i have to ask for a favor from you guys.
i need:
game icons (32x32 gif format preferred) like these
map pictures (should be named in all lowercase and match whatever is shown in mapname to be displayed properly)
--150-200 px wide for hl engine
--230*229 px for ut engine
--200*160 px for quake 3 engine (except RCTW&ET)
--whatever the default is for RCTW, SOF2, AvP2, ut2003, bf1942, cnc:r, MOHAA, q2, americas army, deus ex, devastation, and serious sam

heres what i already have
http://secretlab.voicesinmyhead.net/modules/GameServers/output_templates/

i also would like you to look at the test server for any game you might be able help me with and make sure i'm interpreting the data right
examples:
in sof2, the server returns 'sv_pure'=0
in avp2, the server returns 'queen'=5
-i have no idea if these actually impact gameplay 'cause ive never played sof2 or avp2

oh btw, you need to be logged in as an admin to see the raw data for games with templates so if you wanna check my work against the raw output message me and i'll give you a admin user/pass

i have warcraft starcraft and diablo, i could test these games. Do you think it's possible to query blizzard servers? Is it possible to list the ladder in this module?

Author: disgruntledtechLocation: Tulsa, OKPostPosted: Sat Aug 30, 2003 2:08 pm    Post subject: Re: new game server query module in development

i doubt that blizzard games support queries -i've never heard of quering a diablo/warcraft server. sorry

Tech I have a few different game servers up & would love to give this a test on our game site, curently we have mohaa, spearhead, ut2k3, ravenshield, q3, bf1942, HL, HLCI, enemy territory & more on the way.

Author: Pyroman[FO]PostPosted: Wed Sep 03, 2003 6:38 am    Post subject: Re: new game server query module in development

Hey is there any way to get a look at the code? I want to help finish it up because we are looking for something just like this on our site. I'll probably also submit a patch to gameq so that it can read ravenshield

Author: Pyroman[FO]PostPosted: Wed Sep 03, 2003 8:59 am    Post subject: Re: new game server query module in development

Okay, patch to read RavenShield has been sent to GameQ, it works fine. It's based off an existing PHP script and my tests worked.

Is there an ETA on this project yet?

I can't wait Shocked

When you say you have HL...is this the old half life or is it the steam version? I know you can query steam servers and i can test Counter Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Clasic, and Half Life if you would like me to if its via steam. Also a new Counter strike is coming out in like september that you might look into...

i really am gearing up for a release -sorry to be so secretive but i hate releasing half done projects -since this one is gonna be an ongoing project, i will have to.

the script will support these at first release:

America's Army
Battlefield 1942
Halflife
+Day of Defeat
+Counterstrike
+Vampire Slayer
+Team Fortress Classic
+other mods

Neverwinter Nights
+Shadows of Undrentide

Quake 3 Arena
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
+Enemy Territory

Unreal Tournament
Unreal Tournament 2003

Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

RavenSheild

if you have the map pictures/icons for any games i dont have

You could probably stick Elite Force along side Q3 as they both work off similar ports & the q3 engine.

the serverlist is fully configurable via the admin panel

currently the script supports:

Call Of Duty
Contract J.A.C.K.

IGI 2

+Counterstrike
+Vampire Slayer
+Team Fortress Classic
+other mods

Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
Neverwinter Nights*
+Shadows of Undrentide*

Quake 3 Arena
RavenShield
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
+Enemy Territory
Soldier of Fortune
Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix
Unreal Tournament
Unreal Tournament 2003
Medal of Honor
Tron 2.0
Vietcong

this script uses GameQ to get all the info and *should* support these games when complete
Command & Conquer: Renegade
Daikatana
Deus Ex
Devastation
Drakan: Order of the Flame
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Global Operations
Gore
Hexen 2
Kingpin: Life of Crime
Quakeworld
Quake 2
C & C: Renegade
Rune
Shogo: Armored Divison
SIN
Serious Sam
Serious Sam: Second Encounter
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force
Tactical Operations

Unreal

if you want to see a certain game supported, speak up -i may need your help in testing since i only have a few of these games.

most new games can be added -especially if you can view them in gamespy arcade

*bioware recently applied a 'security update' as part of the newest patch and broke server queries for this game. if you know a workaround let me know.
