You can also backup you .htaccess and replace it with a blank one and see if that is the problem first. If it isn't you just upload it back to the server, if it is we can figure it out.

What else to do you have in the htaccess? Are you using GT? I am using GT myself and am not having the problem you are. It may be something lese in your htaccess causing your issue.
