Or you could use AutoTheme and have it as easy as creating pages in FrontPage, with much more power and features than you can get from even the PHP gurus here

It doesn't look like this has anything to with AutoTheme. He is installing Nuke into a dir called autotheme for some reason. He hasn't even gotten nuke installed yet.

Link in my sig, there are 3 tutorials and a user manual for AutoTheme. Easily build a theme in HTML or convert a template into a theme etc. Plus much more.

Check out all the sites offering AutoTheme themes. They are much easier to design and provide customization features not found in nuke or the themes.

If it's an AutoTheme theme then you need the AutoTheme module.
If not, just delete the bad theme and rename a working theme to the same name as the bad theme.

Try AT-XP. It's the same except it's an AutoTheme HTML theme so you can just edit the HTML templates.

If you were using an AutoTheme theme, then you would just add <!-- [user-login] --> in your HTML theme template

Why not just use the HTML you have? AutoTheme is an HTML Theme System for all of the nuke CMSs.
